I have been through a lot of pipes looking for the quality and tone I wanted. I was very lucky to receive a set of Tim Gellaitry's pipes and there is no words that could describe how I felt upon opening the package. The incredible detail is mind blowing. The wood is just absolutely beautiful so well seasoned unlike anything I have ever seen. The bores a perfect finish smooth as glass. The combing is the deepest I have seen in a set and shows Tim is extremely serious about the quality of his pipes.The Boxwood is gorgeous just mind blowing!Tim's talent is evident even to non pipers. I have my family members amazed at the detail throughout the set.All this before I even set them up. Once they were set up I was soo pleased with the tone. An amazing seamless blend of tenors and bass for a nice full sound. A tone that can fill a room and compliment any chanter. I noticed right away how air efficient his drones were and how easily they locked right in. One thing I knew is that I had found the perfect bagpipe. Tim's pipes are everything you could possibly want in a set of pipes and I mean everything. Tim called me a week later to see how I liked them and gave me lots of helpful advice. I have never heard of a maker taking soo much pride and love into his product to call every owner. He is a true gentlemen and a fun guy to talk too. He would bend over backwards for any of your needs. He explained to me after each process of the pipe making process he would let the wood age some more before continuing. I am confident in saying noone goes to the level Tim does to produce a set of pipes for a customer. Each pipe he produces becomes a part of him and he puts his all into every piece. There is nothing more obvious than that! I am fully confident in saying Tim's pipes will be the last set you will own and the last set your great grandchildren will ever own.Tim's pipes are not only the greatest sounding and looking bagpipe they are a piece of art for the ages. Thank you Tim for all the dedication and passion you put into manufacturing every piece.

I have looked at, played, and listened to every make of bagpipe produced since the late 1800's. Tim’s pipes are at the top of the list because they tune easily and lock in to a beautiful sound. The tenors are bright and the bass is well balanced with them. They are also very air efficient, and I didn’t want to stop playing them. I’ve not seen any maker give the attention to detail that Tim does on his workmanship. On a scale from 1-10, his quality is an 11.

I've been playing a set of Gellaitry pipes for nearly four years now, and not only am I still impressed by the tone and the steadyness, but my experienced piping friends are as well. I've been playing Sinclair pipes for over 30 years, so I have a superb standard against which to measure Tim's work. The drones lock-in quickly with no fussing, give a sweet sound, and a full volume. The pipes are also of great beauty, with fine turning all around. The boxwood mounts are the best I've seen, and the warm, polished wood is the finishing touch of a fine craftsman.
